Foss Junction Railroad

The Plan

When it comes to operations, I prefer switching industries.  With that in mind, the basic design of Foss Junction came from the Pines and Prairies S Scale Workshop “Lake Wobegon Junction”. Their track plan and method of using a switch list for their layout appeared in the October 1999 issue of the NASG Dispatch. The area of Stout Fence Company had been inspired by the article by Paul J. Dolkos, “Working the Mill Job”, which appeared in Model Railroader of April 2000. Finally, by kit bashing an Atlas 027 bridge, I was able to have an acceptable duck under, thereby allowing me to have the option of continuous running. The hand laid curved turnout to the right of Foss Junction was the work of David Held with some help from Bob Stelmach.
